Strategic projects for community development
Transforming Lives International has taken up special projects in order to address specific needs in the communities that we have served. Our pastoral partners have served as leadership in directing these needs.
strategic projects
water well
In the end of 2019, TLI was able to complete the construction of a bore hole. This bore hole has been built in a village called Kitooni. Kitooni means dust or dryness. Prior to the completion of this bore hole, during the dry season, women would spend hours patiently in line, waiting for an opportunity to scoop water from a spring. Now the community easier access to clean drinking water.
farming project
TLI values sustainability. We provide direct aid in times of crisis, but simultaneously equip individuals with what is needed for self-sufficiency. As an organization we are modeling this by utilizing the profit gained from our farming project in order to increase TLI revenue. This will provide us the opportunity to pour more resources into our projects. With the guidance and support from experienced local farmers, TLI has begun farming onions and raising sheep. God has truly blessed these efforts and we received a bountiful harvest of onions in 2020, praise God!
covid-19 response
Last year, majority of TLI efforts were directed towards addressing needs brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our pastoral partners in Kenya are incredible leaders in their communities. They are aware of the needs within their community and the best way to meet them. We have relied on their wisdom heavily in order to identify and meet the most pressing needs within their communities. They have been responsible for the distribution of food supplies and masks. They have also provided daily devotionals, counseling, and prayer. We have also continued to provide a small supplemental stipend to our pastors which has proven to be a blessing during church service closures.
